| This section provides sources of information on specific interventions that are described as evidence-based practices for adults. In addition, information can be found on interventions that have not yet been rigorously studied, but that have been found to be promising. In 2001, SAMHSA's Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation supported the National EBP Demonstration Project. That project focused on six specific evidence-based practices for individuals with severe mental illness, and created comprehensive guides to standardize the practices to be consistent and faithful to the practices as defined in the underlying evidence base. These guides were made available for widespread dissemination and implementation across the states.
