State Reviews of Research on Evidence-Based Practices

Some states have begun to review the literature on EBPs to assist them in selecting interventions to incorporate into their own service systems. For example, the states of Hawaii and Virginia have conducted extensive reviews of the evidence base for the effectiveness of treatments in child mental health to guide planning and practice in their states. Their reviews and helpful summary charts illustrate the extent of evidence for treatments categorized by intervention type and disorder.

The state of Oregon has mandated the use of treatments and services that are considered to be evidence-based by health and human service agencies, including mental health.
